Mardi Gras Cake

This cake was made for a 50th birthday celebration. It was made by using two 10-inch white cakes and two 6 inch coconut cakes. It is iced with buttercream icing and all of the decorations (with the exception of the feathers) are made out of a fondant/gum paste mix. Glitter was painted on the fondant decorations to give them some extra flair and sparkle.

Baby Shower Cake

This double layer ten inch round chocolate cake with buttercream icing is decorated with fondant polka dots and flowers. It was made for a baby shower. A raspberry filling was used to tort the cakes.

Hockey Cake

This yellow cake was done for my husband in a Toronto Maple Leaf theme. I blew up a maple leaf and hockey stick pattern and then cut them out of fondant. When I do this, I tend to leave the fondant a little thicker. You are able to get a cleaner cut and it is easier to transfer it to the cake. The letters are also cut out of fondant. I use a high density roller to get my buttercream icing so smooth.

Feliz Cumpleanos!

This cake was made for a friend's husband. Since they are from Puerto Rico, I decided to give it a Spanish theme. The two 10-inch yellow round cakes are frosted with buttercream icing and all the decorations are made from fondant. I used the rope border on the bottom. The yellow, red and orange all looked very nice together.

NC State Wolfpack Cake

This cake was made with the help of a friend for the special guy in her life. He is an NC State Alum and avid fan! The cake was made by using two 10-inch round yellow cakes. They are iced with buttercream icing and all the decorations are made from fondant. The cake was a big hit!
