This yellow cake was done for my husband in a Toronto Maple Leaf theme. I blew up a maple leaf and hockey stick pattern and then cut them out of fondant. When I do this, I tend to leave the fondant a little thicker. You are able to get a cleaner cut and it is easier to transfer it to the cake. The letters are also cut out of fondant. I use a high density roller to get my buttercream icing so smooth.
